Centella Asiatica
Die Pflanze Centella Asiatica, oder auch indischer Wassernabel bzw. Tigergras genannt, ist ein wichtiger Wirkstoff und deren Extrakte haben positive Wirkungen auf die Haut.
Die Wundheilung ist bis jetzt die am besten belegte Wirkung.
Die Pflanze ist eine am Boden wuchernde Kriechpflanze, die in sumpfigen Gebieten wächst und gedeiht. Länder und Kontinente wo die Centella Asiatica vorkommt sind u.a. Indien, Sri Lanka, Madagaskar, Afrika, Australien, China, Indonesien und Malaysia.
Wirkung
Die Wirkungen der Centella Asiatica sind vielfältig. So hat sie nicht nur eine positive Wirkung bei der Wundheilung, sondern auch antioxidative, antientzündliche und regenerative Eigenschaften machen sie zu einem sehr interessanten Inhaltsstoff in der Kosmetik.
In der traditionellen Medizin, wie zum Beispiel in der chinesischen, werden die Wirkungen der Centella Asiatica schon seit Jahrhunderten genutzt.
Es existieren allerdings auch schon viele Wirkungsnachweise in der westlichen Medizin. Triterpene, sekundäre Inhaltsastoffe der Centella Asiatica haben eine besondere Wirkung. Dies haben geht aus speziellen Forschungsergebnissen hervor.
Saponine, eine Untergruppe der Triterpenen, sind in der Centella Asiatica enthalten.
Andere Hauptkomponenten der Pflanze sind Madecassoide, Asiaticoside, Centelloside und Asiatic Acid.
Je nachdem, wo die Pflanze geerntet wurde, besitzt sie immer verschiedene Wirkungen. Bei der Extraktion der Wirkstoffe braucht man zudem noch ein spezielles Extraktionsmittel. Außerdem gibt es enorme Unterschiede in Qualität und Wirkung in den jeweiligen Extraktionen.
Titrierte Extrakte der Pflanze werden in der Medizin am meisten verwendet, denn hier sind die Menge der Hauptkomponenten genau definiert.
Zahlreiche nachgewiesene, positive Wirkungen für die Haut, wie zum Beispiel Wundheilung, hat man allerdings nur, wenn das Extrakt hochwertig und genau dosiert ist.

- Die Synthese von Kollagen und Fibronektin in Hautzellen werden von den Triterpen – Faktoren stimuliert.
- Die Kollagensythese in den Hautzellen wird sowohl von isolierten Asiacosiden, als auch von Madecassoiden, stimuliert.
- Extrakte der Centella Asiatica wirken antibakteriell und antioxidativ.
- Eine Verringerung der Falten bzw. ein verbessertes Hautbild in sonnengealterter Haut wird aus einer Kombination aus Vitamin C und Madecassoiden erzielt.

Fazit
Hautberuhigende und regenerative Wirkungen aus den Extrakten der Centella Asiatica sind sehr interessant für die Kosmetik.
Ob die Wirkung in den jeweiligen Produkten allerdings entfaltet wird, liegt allerdings an der Qualität und der genauen Dosierung der Extrakte.
Jedoch ist bei den isolierten Wirkstoffen eine positive Wirksamkeit auf der Haut sicher gestellt, wenn die richtige Dosierung vorhanden ist.
