Commodity security
A safety assessment is required for cosmetic products to comply with EC Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009 Art. 10. The safety of the cosmetic product is assessed on the basis of the formulation, the ingredients, the IFRA conformity of the perfume oil used, the physico-chemical and microbiological stability, the skin compatibility tests, the packaging, the instructions for use and warnings as well as the experience with this or similar products.
An expert opinion, a so-called safety report, is drawn up, which forms part of the product information file and is made available to the responsible authorities if required. Furthermore, every cosmetic product must be registered with the EU Commission. This is done via the Cosmetic Product Notification Portal CPNP.

Thanks to our many years of experience in the development of cosmetics and our understanding of market products, it is particularly important to us that the raw materials in cosmetic products are safe and of high purity.
We check your raw materials for impurities.
We have often seen cosmetic raw materials with impurities in the single-digit percentage range that pose a health risk. In the end, they were declared not marketable because the safe use of the product could not be proven during the safety assessment. It should not come to that. We therefore offer to support you during the development and test phase of your new raw material.
We continue to analyze whether the available toxicological data ensures safe use and, if necessary, make suggestions for further investigations so that your raw material can be used in cosmetics to the greatest extent possible.
Together with our partners, we offer the following services:
- Toxicological assessment of whether a raw material in a cosmetic product is fit for use and safe to use within the meaning of the EC Cosmetics Regulation
- Testing of raw materials for toxicologically relevant impurities based on the analytical data provided
- Identification of further contamination if necessary
