Phlorizin (CAS-Nummer 60-81-1) ist ein pflanzliches Glycosid, das zur Gruppe der Flavonoide gehört. Dabei handelt es sich um eine süß schmeckende, kristalline, weiße bis gelbliche Substanz. Das Aglykon von Phlorizin ist das Phloretin (CAS-Nummer 60-82-2), ein Dihydrochalcon, also eine Art natürliches Phenol.
Apfelpolyphenol schützt vor freien Radikalen, hemmt Entzündungen und kann die Zelloxidation verlangsamen.
