The term body mousse covers products that are foamy lotions suitable for gentle care of the face, hands, and body. In the field of cosmetics, body mousse is currently not yet widespread, but numerous manufacturers have already recognized the trend: More and more aerosol cans and jars with body mousse are coming onto the market. The extraordinary popularity has of course a reason. Body mousse is as nourishing and rich as body butter, but at the same time wonderfully light and airy. The texture, which is often described as “fluffy”, caresses the skin like a light summer breeze and provides it with optimal and intensive moisture. Thanks to its feather-light creamy consistency, the mousse is very easy to apply. It is quickly absorbed and leaves no unpleasant oily film on the skin.<\/p>\n

The term was derived from the French term “mousse”, which is used for foamy or foaming consistencies. In this context, the term “moussing” is also often used.<\/p>\n
Even though body mousse implies that the product is for the body, many products are also for the face and hands. They are usually offered in two different dosage forms: as an aerosol spray or in a practical jar<\/strong>. Body mousse from a can is particularly loose and airy. It can be dosed very precisely and sparingly, but also has a long shelf life because no microorganisms can penetrate it.<\/p>\n As a jar product<\/strong> <\/em>(“non-aerosol”), body mousse is only slightly firmer and more compact<\/strong>; the “fluffy” consistency so beloved by many users is also evident here, although the texture is somewhat creamier and not quite as foamy.<\/strong><\/p>\n Body mousse often contains natural extracts<\/strong> such as aloe vera<\/a>, jojoba oil, sunflower oil<\/a>, or mango butter<\/strong>. These supply the skin with care and nutrients. Various flower or spice fragrances ensure that body mousse is also a delightful treat for the nose. Examples of common fragrances are ginger, cinnamon, ylang ylang, jasmine, anise, coconut, mango, vanilla, and sandalwood. Some mousse products are additionally equipped with tiny shine particles, which also give the skin a delicate shimmer. Others nourish and cool stressed skin after sunbathing. Then there is also body mousse, which is applied after bathing and showering and contributes to a relaxed and smoothed skin feeling. Other body mousses focus more on cleansing the skin. The areas of application can therefore vary greatly depending on the product.<\/p>\n What all body mousse variants have in common, however, is the light, airy formula, which can be applied very nicely. Depending on the desired care concept of the manufacturer, it can contain more or less rich ingredients.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In terms of concept<\/strong>, Body Mousse thus lies between a moisturizer, a body lotion, and an oily skin care cream<\/strong>. The product is preferred by many women in summer, when the skin enjoys a soft freshness kick and wants to be sufficiently supplied with moisture. Nevertheless, of course, nothing speaks against year-round use: Here it just depends on personal taste and individual preferences.<\/p>\n Body mousse can be massaged into the skin without leaving any residue and leaves the skin feeling very pleasantly soft<\/strong>. More than 80 percent of it consists of valuable unsaturated fatty acids. In addition, it contains a very high proportion of natural antioxidants and twice as much vitamin E as olive oil, for example. It has very good moisturizing, anti-inflammatory as well as antibacterial properties. It represents an antioxidant, has an inhibitory effect on inflammation and supports the immune system. Overall, vitamin E performs valuable services as an active ingredient in cosmetic products, which is why it is also recommended for body mousse.
