As an annual plant, it completes its life cycle within a single growing season. The seeds are harvested before or as they reach full maturity and are then separated from the plant material.<\/p>\n

The seeds are of interest to the cosmetics industry due to their constituents. For A. caudatus<\/i>, for example, peptides have been scientifically characterized.
