What is retinal?<\/h3>\n

Cosactive retinal, also known as retinaldehyde, belongs to the vitamin A family and is a direct precursor of retinoic acid. It is a highly active form of vitamin A that is particularly valued in cosmetic formulations because it is very effective but at the same time better tolerated by the skin than prescription retinoids. Chemically, retinal is present in the form of orange crystals, is fat-soluble and is characterised by its distinctive aldehyde group, which is responsible for its conversion to retinoic acid.<\/p>\n

Fast-acting \u2013 Cosactive Retinal is more effective than retinol<\/h3>\n

A key advantage of retinal is that it is converted directly into retinoic acid. While retinol requires two conversion steps, retinal only needs one. This means that it unfolds its anti-ageing effect much faster and more efficiently. Users often notice smoother, firmer and fresher skin after just a short time.<\/p>\n

The recommended concentration is 0.05\u20130.1% in the final formulation; up to 6% is possible in special products.<\/p>\n

Processing: preferably in the active ingredient phase below 40\u00b0C.<\/p>\n
